The accident has affected so many people. Not only the passengers of the limo, but also their families and friends. The benefit concert, Living No Worries, has been organized so funds can be raised to help those injured with expenses both medical and non-medical resulting from the accident.

Many people think that a few dollars won’t make a difference. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Every last penny is a blessing.

Many of the passengers are self employed. Others are teachers and some may be saving your life someday in their jobs as fireman and medics. This is a good group of people that were put into a terrible situation.

We strongly encourage you to find it in your heart to help our friends during their time of recovery.

So you want to help, but you’re not sure how? Here are a few suggestions.

– You could make a donation through our secure PayPal link.

This was posted by Kirby’s mom.

I’m in my office now and just opened the curtins. Eric’s truck in the front view with the words “Stay Positive” staring at me which he has on his side window. So everyone “Stay Positive”. Waiting word from doctor. He had a restful night, sedated and temperature normal “Stay Positive”.

I say we all take note of the message and “Stay Positive” for our friend.

From Kevin Lyons

Tuesday 12/18/12 7:19pm

Kirby No Worries is out of ICU. Gave him a shave to get rid of beard! Starting to do PT and is slowly starting to move around on his own. Got him into a bed that has a pull-up bar. No more breathing tubes or feeding tubes.

Sunday 12/16/12 5:43pm

Update: Back from Miami. This is the first day I can breathe a breath of relief knowing that Kevin, Marianne and Linette are with him in Miami. Kevin has his beach chair right besides Eric attending to him in every way possible. Thank you 3 musketeers for being there and caring. He is the fighter now with a will to live even though at one point he did not because of all the pain. He choose to be with us all. He has heard all of your prayers and doctors and nurses are just calling it remarkable. Remarkable? I KNOW it the love you all have for him. As I was reading to him all the wonderful things you wrote on facebook to him his nurse overheard and said “I have a story to share with you” She said I saw Eric in the worst of condition last week in terrible pain and he just looked at me and gave me a great big smile with a thumbs up sign. Somehow it just shook her up and wanted to share this with you. HE IS FIGHTING. He is out if ICU, in a regular ward, waiting for all his doctors to sign off and he will be ready to come back to Fort Pierice this week. Still has a feeding tube and hopefully tomorrow he will pass the “swallow test” and be able to eat. He craves a cup of tea. How simple that is for us, but for him the best Christmas gift he can get. Its going to be a long road of recovery for him. Doctor said at least 3 months in a wheel chair, but with the help of us all we can show him his life does matter to us. Thank you all for your love, prayers, donations,– for caring. He loves you all.

Sunday 12/16/12

Marianne, Lanette and Kevin were able to visit Kirby today. We have all been waiting for this photo.
Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Stay positive and keep fighting Kirby!!

Hopefully we can transport him to Ft. Pierce Mon-Tues! Keep up the prayers and love. He really does appreciate it and he FEELS IT! Thursday 12/13/12 1:10pm

Update: In Miami with Eric. He is doing so much better. My heart has lightened. Consicious, talking. Just had a MRI done on his neck, complaining about that. Vocal chords are still strained and not able to eat on his own. He has pain in the pelvic area and is given medication for that. Doesn’t remember the accident. He has really gone thru a lot, pain, frustration, anger. Thank you all for caring. Every day is getting better and better.

From Lanette Lyons

Wednesday 12/12/12 8:48pm

Kevin Lyons and I just received a call from Kirby’s parents, Shirley Leonhard and Bob. They said Kirby No Worries is improving and his awareness is coming back. He is not ready for visitors, as he is still trying to adapt to being conscious & gaining strength. Awesome news!

Tuesday 12/11/12 5:09pm

Update: I’ve have been crying tears of joy. He is off the ventilator, breathing on his own. Conscious. Nurse put the phone to his ear and I told him how much we all loved him. Don’t ever doubt the power of your thoughts and love. No more tubes…………. Thank you all for your love, prayers.

Tuesday 12/11/12 11:00am

Update. He’s breathing too rapidly and gets agitated which they do not want him to get. He if does not slow down, they will do the trac today before 5:00 or tomorrow.

Monday 12/10/12 7:59pm

Update. Pretty much the same. Sedated, resting, vitals good. Hoping surgery is tomorrow. will update.

Monday 12/10/12 5:35pm

What is Love? What is compassion? How do we know we are a loving, compassionate person? When given the opportunity as with Eric, we become that beingness . You are a loving and compassion being of light. I see that in all of you and I hope that you see it in yourselves.

Monday 12/10/12 11:59am

Update. They rescheduled Eric for tomorrow. Couldn’t find a “slot” for him today since they have to take care of serious trauma surgery. Temperature normal, sedated and sleeping. Keep postitive. will update this evening.

Saturday 12/8/12 4:20pm

Update: Just left Eric and he resting and sedated. Temperature normal. He is having surgery on Monday to have a trac tube put in his throat for breathing. They say its a normal procedure since they do not want anyone on the ventillator for more than 21 days (Eric about 11). This way they will removed the tubes in the mouth which he hates.
Dear Friends of Kirby: Thank you so much for your prayers. You are all family to us. Kirby loves you all Your love keeps us going.
Just left him. He was operated yesterday to repair the pelvis, but due to excessive bleeding they opted to quit. They inserted a rod in the pelvis to stablized the pelvis. He is resting peaceable, highly drugged, but all vitals are good and he’s fighting. When
he is stabilized Doctor will operate again to put the hardware in him. Will give you updates as I receive them. It is a terrible time for all.
My heart goes out to all his friends in the limo, but we are all family and will get thru this together. I am so overwhelmed by what you are doing for him as donations. Believe me 100% will go to Kirby and anyone else who needs it. Keep the prayers going. They really work. I saw the results with Kirby. Pictures are beautiful, but most of all the beauty in your hearts. Mom
